Partner's Bio & Professional Experience
Born in Athens in 1982, Theodoros Ninopoulos is a dedicated legal professional committed to serving his clients with integrity and expertise. His journey in the field of law began with a strong academic foundation, graduating from the American College of Greece in 2000.
Following his passion for law, Theodoros pursued his undergraduate studies in London, earning his LLB Law degree in 2004. He furthered his legal education by specializing in International Trade Law at the University of Essex, graduating with Postgraduate Distinction.
With a keen interest in the intersection of law and commerce, Theodoros obtained a Master's degree (MSc) in Shipping, Trade, and Finance in 2008, and drafted his dissertation under the guidance of Professor Costas Grammenos, a renowned figure in the shipping industry. This additional expertise has provided him with a holistic understanding of legal and financial dynamics crucial in today's global economy.
Continuing his academic and professional growth, Theodoros completed the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) at the Inns of Court School of Law (now known as the City Law School). He takes pride in being part of an institution with a rich legacy, alongside esteemed alumni such as Mahatma Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher, and Tony Blair. During that year, he was sponsored to participate with the legal team of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, in the Willem C. Vis Moot Competition in Vienna on the field of International Commercial Arbitration, which is considered to be the “Olympic Games for Lawyers”.
Theodoros has honed his legal skills through diverse experiences, including a notable mini pupillage at No5 Chambers. This invaluable opportunity allowed him to immerse himself in the dynamic environment of one of the UK's leading sets of barristers' chambers, gaining first-hand insights into various legal disciplines. Such experiences have enriched his understanding of advocacy and litigation, reinforcing his commitment to delivering diligent and effective legal counsel to clients.
Since 2010, Theodoros has been an essential member of Ninopoulos & Partners. His areas of specialization include Criminal Law, Commerce and Trade Law, Real Estate Law and more recently Cryptocurrency Law.
Apart from the cases that he has handled in other areas of expertise, Theodoros boasts a distinguished track record of advising in notable criminal law cases of public interest, showcasing his unwavering commitment to justice and legal excellence. Among many cases, Theodoros notably provided expert counsel in a high-profile case involving a London AIM PLC with Greek directors, entangled in allegations of financial markets manipulation with multijurisdictional issues. His astute guidance and meticulous legal strategies played a pivotal role in navigating the complexities of this intricate legal landscape. Additionally, he lent his expertise to advising the CEO of a prominent Greek bank amidst allegations of granting loans without adequate guarantees, a case that captured widespread attention and scrutiny.
